"Cold case playing cards" lead to 2nd murder arrest, police say

NORWALK, Conn. — Police have made an arrest within the 2012 killing of a person in Norwalk, the second arrest this week in instances featured on Connecticut’s so-referred to as chilly case enjoying playing cards.

CBS Hartford affiliate WFSB-TV reviews 22-yr-previous Hakeem Atkinson was arraigned Thursday on a cost of homicide within the February 2012 dying of Joseph Bateman.

Bateman’s demise was described on a enjoying card in a deck provided on the market to jail inmates as a part of an effort to generate ideas.

An arrest was made Tuesday in one other Norwalk case featured within the deck, the capturing dying of Michael Robinson Jr. in 2010.

Atkinson’s bond was set at $1 million. His lawyer had pressed for a decrease quantity, noting that Atkinson turned himself in after studying of the warrant for his arrest.

Investigators stated Atkinson shot and killed Bateman behind a housing complicated in Norwalk, WFSB notes, including that details about the homicide was described on the 9 of diamonds card.
